As Frannie Peabody Center's largest annual fundraiser, The Southern Maine AIDS Walk/5K Run unites the community in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Every year, over 300 participants make their way to beautiful Ogunquit Beach for the culmination of their fundraising efforts. With over 40 community sponsors and more than 1,000 donors, the event raises over $100,000 in support of people in Maine living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS.
Since 2009, The Southern Maine AIDS Walk/5K Run has not only raised critical funding and awareness, but also brought people together in support of one another. Many people choose to walk in memory of a loved one they have lost to AIDS, in honor of a friend still fighting, or as a way to educate their children about an important issue that affects our community. Whatever your motivation, we hope you'll join us in May for a fantastic event fueled by love and support.
